Real help for entrepreneurs at The Real Business Club

Swindon is to get an enterprise club to help the unemployed and those wishing to start a business, under an initiative by Forward Swindon, the town's economic development agency.

The Real Business Club is launched between 10am and 2pm on Friday at the Jobcentre Plus offices in Princes Street, when anyone thinking about launghing their own business can hear more about the free help anbd advice it will offer.

Kate Lole, partner at The Real Business Club, the organisation brought in By Forward Swindon to run the club, said: “For the past two years we have run a club in Wokingham which has resulted in more than 500 individuals meeting business experts and gaining access one-to-one support, networking, attending seminars and making new contacts.

"We very much look forward to working in Swindon to provide much-needed face-to-face support when starting a new business venture.”

Forward Swindon chief executive Ian Piper, (pictured) added: “Forward Swindon have selected an experienced organisation to run the club in Swindon. It’s very important to be able to support local people who’d like to make their own living, and we look forward to hearing how the club progresses and seeing some successful ventures start as a result.”

The Real Business Club will meet from 10am to 12.30pm on the third Friday of each month in venues around Swindon town centre. It will provide a free service for those looking to find out whether starting a business is right for them. Help will include writing a business plan, advice on the legal requirements of starting in business and access to ongoing expert support.
