New College has awarded a five-year contract to Swindon-based Sodexo Education Services to provide it with catering and hospitality services.

Under the contract, worth nearly £2.5million in total, Sodexo will provide meals for the college's 7,000 students and staff. The service includes a Costa Coffee shop, Sodexo's Bowl hot food service, Brunch all-day breakfast and Street handheld snack concepts, and a retail shop.

Sodexo said it will bring increased flexibility to the college's catering service, ensuring that students and staff can eat the meals they want, at a time convenient for them – whether before, after or in between lectures and seminars.

Sodexo has more than 50 years’ experience in the education market with a portfolio of clients that includes schools, colleges and universities.

Sodexo Education operations director Debbie Owens said: “This is a great win for Sodexo and we are delighted that New College has chosen us to provide all its catering and hospitality services.

“We have developed new food concepts to meet the needs of students and staff on site, and they were impressed by our local food sourcing strategy. The location of Sodexo Education's headquarters in Swindon also helped to seal the agreement as New College wanted a readily available support team to meet their day-to-day requirements."
