Specialist IT recruitment firm Outsource UK, which started life in its managing director’s front room, has celebrated 20 years in business.

Outsource UK today boasts a turnover of more than £21 million, employs 29 people and has a string of accolades to its name.

Founder Paul Jameson puts its success down to delivering an excellent service to its clients while recruiting and developing the right staff for his business.

“In 1991, IT recruitment businesses had very little interest in focusing on servicing the needs of clients and candidates. Most were more interested in how much money they could make,” said Paul. “I believed that if I could create a business which had the best interests of our users at heart, we could obtain long-term success.”

To mark its anniversary and show off its new Churchward offices, Outsource celebrated with a party for its most valued clients.

The event was also a chance for Paul to say ‘thank you’ to the team he has built around him. Some employees have been with the business almost from the beginning and 10 new staff members were taken on last year. The firm pays close attention to staff training and development.

Paul has ambitious growth plans, both organically and through takeovers. “Within three years I hope to be one of the largest and most profitable privately-owned IT recruitment firms,” he said. “This will mean reaching close to £50 million turnover and employing more than 40 recruitment staff. It’s a big ambition but one I think that, with the excellent team I have, can be achieved.”

Experienced recruiter Andrea Williams joined as sales director last year in a role newly-created to spur growth and Outsource is currently recruiting both experienced and trainee consultants.

Guest at the party Chris Evans, programme manager for Outsource client Advantage xPO, praised the company’s success. “Paul and his team are a pleasure to work with,” he said.

Nicky Iddon, of Halcrow – another Outsource UK client – added: “I have every confidence in Outsource. I have been using the company for a long time and they always listen to our requirements.”

Outsource is now the 54th largest specialist IT recruiter nationally and the 174th largest recruiter, out of a total of 7,400. This year it entered Swindon Business News’s Top 100 Swindon companies for the first time and came 9th in Recruiter magazine’s list of the Fast 50 recruiters.
