Medical products manufacturer Vygon, currently based in Bridge Road, Cirencester, has obtained detailed planning permission for redevelopment of the high profile 46-acre former Motorola site in Blunsdon, Swindon.

Vygon is purchasing the site from Motorola; the company will retain part of the existing facility and construct a new warehouse facility totalling approximately 250,000 sq ft.  The business will relocate from Cirencester and intends to be fully operational from the new site in 2011.

Adam Fletcher of Adapt Properties, who are Vygon’s retained Development Managers, commented: “This is a fantastic strategic opportunity for Vygon. The new facility will provide much needed state of the art warehouse and office space for the company. In addition to the new Vygon premises there will be a further 20 acres of surplus land offering potential future development opportunities.

“This move will provide the Swindon area with numerous job opportunities and give a sizeable boost to the local economy.  Vygon are relocating as they require larger premises to support the needs of the business, they currently operate over three small sites and this centralisation will greatly improve efficiency and facilitate further growth.”
