Reckitt Benckiser, the major domestic products company, is to close its Swindon office and transfer about 100 jobs to the company’s head office at Slough and a small number to another location at Hull.
Around 100 people are employed at the Swindon office at Delta Business Park, carrying out a range of tasks mainly related to marketing, sales and financial services.
A spokesperson for the company said: “We have spare office space at our headquarters at Slough, and it is also more convenient becuase of the proximity to London, so it was decided to move the office. No jobs will be lost, but of course they will be lost to Swindon.”
The loss of jobs will be another blow to Swindon, which is seeing a number of major companies reducing its presence here.
