King Sturge to close Swindon office

The Swindon office of international property consultants King Sturge is to close in the near future, it is understood. Staff have been told of the decision and a number will be made redundant.

The Swindon office of King Sturge has played a major role in the development of commercial property in Swindon, particularly at South Marston Business Park and Churchward, the former railway works site.

King Sturge is one of the largest European independent property consultants, with over 3,800 staff working in 100 owned and associated offices throughout the world.

The office handles some 53,250 m² of existing space ranging from small nursery units up to 8,550 m² of speculative warehousing at Marston Gate, South Marston.

On the development side, the Swindon office handles 41 hectares of development land for clients and has been advising on a number of mixed use schemes in the town centre including commercial retail, offices and leisure together with high quality residential departments above.

The office also manages extensive property portfolios for clients in Oxfordshire, Swindon and Wiltshire which have a combined value in excess of £175m.
