Bus operator Stagecoach West has appointed Bill McCartney as its new operations manager for Swindon.

Bill, pictured, joined the Stagecoach Group in 2013 through its graduate development program. He arrives in Swindon from sister firm Stagecoach East, where he was operations manager for Stagecoach Peterborough.

He will be based at Stagecoach’s offices at Swindon Bus Station.

Bill said: “I’m looking forward to helping maintain and further build on the quality and reliability of our services in the region for the benefit of our passengers.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of the team with the imminent launch of our new frequent town service, the No 3, which will offer new connections for our customers.”

Bill will be responsible managing the day-to-day operation, ensuring delivery of service.

Stagecoach West managing director Rupert Cox said: “Bill is a talented manager and we are delighted to welcome him aboard the team.”

Stagecoach West employs more than 700 staff in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Swindon and Ross and operates a fleet of almost 280 buses.
