Insurance firm Be Wiser has celebrated the first anniversary of its Swindon office by announcing it will take on a further 200 staff in the town.
The Andover-based firm, one of the UK’s fastest-growing personal lines brokers, opened the office in Dorcan early last year with the intention of growing its Swindon workforce to 350 within three years.
The privately-owned firm, which specialises in car, van, bike and home cover, has since recruited 100 people in Swindon.
Chief operating officer Richard Smith, pictured, who is based in Dorcan, said the plan now was to build on the firm foundations in the town with a major recruitment drive.
“We’ve had a great first year here in Swindon and we’ve been delighted to offer so many people real career opportunities and this growth is set to continue,” he said.
“We have a strong philosophy of staff development and training at Be Wiser and some of our very first recruits are reaping the benefits of this with promotion and professional qualifications.”
Most new recruits join Be Wiser’s apprenticeship scheme and Richard said the career progression had proved one of the biggest attractions for staff in Swindon.
“We are always looking for talented people who want to join our growing team,” he said.
“We know the best people are looking for career development and the breadth of our business and training commitment means that we are well placed to attract these people.”
The Swindon office is the second opened by the firm, which employs more than 600 people at its headquarters in Andover. The multi-award winning company has been listed in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for three consecutive years.
