Regional chartered accountancy firm Monahans is urging Swindon’s business brains to pit their wits against each other in its annual charity sports quiz.
All money raised from the event, which takes place on November 10 at, appropriately, the County Ground, will go to Swindon Carers Centre – Monahans’ chosen charity for 2016.This year is the quiz’s 25th anniversary.
Rounds in the quiz, which has been going for 25 years, will include general sports and historical sporting achievements, as well as special rounds on major recent sporting events.
Some 41 teams of up to four people from businesses across the area competed last year in a fiercely fought battle of sporting eggheads, with Intel’s Foregone Conclusion team emerging as winners by just two points.
That night raised more than £1,550 – taking the total over the past 25 years to £30,000-plus.
Monahans partner Steve Elliott, who is based in the firm’s Swindon office, said: “The Swindon Sports Quiz is a fiercely fought competition and the first place is a coveted award.
“As well as being a great night out, the quiz also raises funds for Monahans’ Swindon office’s Charity of the Year.
“There are still a few places left for teams, so I’d encourage businesses across the town to sign up as soon as possible.”
Swindon Carers Centre provides help and support to the town’s 21,000 carers.
Entry costs £30 for a team of up to four. To enter, visit www.monahans.co.uk or contact Vicki Speller or Jackie Synder on 01793 818300.
