Swindon commercial property agency Whitmarsh Lockhart has promoted chartered surveyors Chris Brooks and Mike Morley to associate partners.

The appointments come as the firm celebrates 20 years in business and will help it achieve further strategic growth.

The firm continues to be at the forefront of the commercial property market in and around Swindon, particularly for industrial and distribution buildings, and over the past six weeks alone has achieved lettings on around 600,000 sq ft of commercial space.

In their new roles Chris and Mike will work closely with founding partners James Lockhart and Paul Whitmarsh in managing and developing the business.

Chris is a graduate of the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester and has been with Whitmarsh Lockhart for five years.

Mike joined the company earlier this year after graduating from Nottingham Trent University. He had spent his placement year at Whitmarsh Lockhart. He also worked for a number of years in property and asset management, including in Australia.

Mike said: “I’m looking forward to taking an active role in the strategic growth of Whitmarsh Lockhart, working alongside Chris, James and Paul.

“Swindon is an attractive place to live and work in and the commercial property sector is at an interesting time, with demand growing from businesses looking to move into and around Swindon, as well as new commercial properties being built.”

James Lockhart added: “Chris and Mike are just the right calibre of professional surveyors to take on the running of Whitmarsh Lockhart alongside Paul and I and ensure the progression of the business while maintaining the high level of service we’re recognised for.”
