Jason Airey, the managing director of Swindon-based fleet management software firm CMS SupaTrak, has been appointed to a senior advisory group in the waste industry.

The RWM (Resource Waste Management) invited Jason, pictured, to join its Waste Ambassadors’ Group as CMS SupaTrak shares its vision of implementing best practice in compliance and safety across the industry.

The panel, which was formed two years ago, run by RWM in partnership with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and group brings together some of the sector’s leading thinkers.

Collectively the 24 members ensure that RWM reflects and meets the needs of the fast-changing sector and help shape its future direction.

Among the ambassadors are representatives of leading national and international businesses such as car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, construction group BAM, waste handling firms Suez and SITA UK and household products giant Unilever UK.

CIWM CEO Steve Lee said: “I am delighted that Jason is joining the Ambassadors Group. The strength of the group is that it represents the whole of the resources cycle and is very forward-looking. CMS SupaTrak fit that bill nicely, and I look forward to Jason’s contribution to our work.”

Jason added: “We’ve worked with a number of the organisations involved in the Ambassadors programme over the years in promoting best practice in driver safety and fleet logistics.

“To be invited to be part of this expert group is a great signal of the benefits of the work we’ve have already been involved with and it is an exciting opportunity to have a real impact in making the sector safer for everyone.”

CMS SupaTrak designs and builds software that helps to improve driver behaviour, reduce accident rates, increase efficiency and cut operating costs.

Its products are widely used by the transport and logistics, local authority, waste management and passenger transport industries and include live GPS vehicle tracking, live-feed crash and safety cameras, vehicle telematics, in-cab driver and job management and driver coaching.

The firm was set up in 1993 and now employs 40 people at its base on Swindon’s Delta Business Park.
