Each week Swindon Business News lets a key figures from the area’s business community have the last word on its weekly e-bulletin. This week Liz Tremblay, of The Business Generation Group, which specialises in business to business telemarketing, answers our 10 questions.
What was the LAST:
Film you watched? I cried through the heartrending and difficult to watch 12 Years A Slave.
Book you read? The Presenting Past by Michael Jacobs. I am particularly interested in psychology and this book offers some fascinating theories about the human psyche and explores how past experiences impact current ways of relating to others.
Music you bought? My absolute go-to CD is Worldwide Underground by the audacious Erykah Badu. Listening to her sing is guaranteed to put me in the BEST of moods.
Concert you went to? My brother’s Belgium-based band The Suspects, who are a bluesy mix of lots of guitar and gravely, husky vocals.
Sporting event you attended? The British Judo Association: The Devizes Open. As a mum to two talented young judo enthusiasts I often attend judo competitions around the country to watch my sons grapple their opponents (through half closed eyes – it’s always challenging to watch).
Holiday you went on? A lovely long month spent in Quebec and Boston. My husband is French Canadian and although we are now UK based we are fortunate enough to have lots of family and friends in Quebec and Boston, who we try to visit often.
Restaurant you ate in? Totally spoilt for choice in Swindon and I recently enjoyed some very delicious Indian food at The Biplob.
Thing that annoyed you? Running for the train in heels, in the rain, only then to discover that it had been cancelled!
Thing that made you laugh out loud? My youngest son’s surprisingly good and hilarious impression of me!
Piece of good advice you were given? If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.
Liz was born in London. When she finished school and college she went travelling in Australia and South East Asia. Her natural career choice was sales, as she’s always enjoyed meeting and talking to people and sales and telemarketing have provided the opportunity to do just that. As well as working as an account manager for The Business Generation Group, she is a second-year diploma student studying psychology at Wiltshire College.
