RedheadPR stays ahead of the curve with move to Desk co-working hub

Swindon public relations agency redheadPR is to move to Desk, the innovative co-working space that opened in Old Town earlier this year.

The first of its kind in Swindon, Desk is a thriving community of entrepreneurs, freelancers and mentors.

RedheadPR founder and entrepreneur Sara Tye – who launched the agency 16 years ago – said the relocation from Victoria Road up the hill to Devizes Road was spurred by the arrival of Desk and its collaborative character

“RedheadPR is always ahead of the curve when it comes to the use of technology, collaboration, co-working, cross skilling, alliance building and stimulating creativity,” she said.

“This is just one reason why we’re moving to Desk. We’re making the move in July so as to be ready for the autumn when we’re active at trade shows and entering the lead time for Christmas stories. We’ll also, of course, be seeing a new prime minister elected at that time. It’s going to be a busy time; on social media and the online community”

Another reason for the move is that the use of leading-edge technology by redheadpr – which has clients across a range of sectors including property and consumer – makes it possible for the team to communicate seamlessly when out and about with clients.

“We use laptops, smart devices and all types of apps to communicate and collaborate,” said Sara.

“We work on the move a great deal and much of our time is spent with clients at trade shows, conferences and product launches. Technology allows us to work as a team without necessarily being behind our desks.”

In a varied career, Sara has headed communications at Yellow Pages, developed stakeholder relations in-house at Thames Water Utilities and was the personal PR internationally for The Body Shop’s founder, the late Dame Anita Roddick.

Over the past 12 months she has been shortlisted in the First Women Awards and led the luxury cycling and wellness break for high net worth individuals in Ibiza as CEO of Etape Suisse.

As managing director of redheadPR, she supported Hilton Swindon’s relaunch as a premier wedding venue and helped raw chocolate kit and ingredients supplier CHOC Chick increase its distribution by 800%.

RedheadPR will celebrate its move with a glittering champagne reception at its new home on Thursday. It will be the first event of its kind to be hosted at Desk.
