This week Simon Tombs, managing partner of chartered accountancy firm Monahans, answers our 10 questions.
What was the LAST: 
Film you watched? James Bond Spectre with the kids at the cinema.
Book you read? Not including the many accounting manuals and books I have to read, the last ‘proper’ book would be Waterlook by Bernard Cornwell. I like the combination of the stories about Napoleonic battles with the context and history that Cornwell includes in his books. Reading, though, is mainly a holiday activity.
Music you bought or downloaded? Enya – Dark Sky Island. It was a download, but I still like to go into music shops and buy music too. Music is a big part of family life for me. Our whole house and garden is wired up so we can play what we want wherever we are.
Concert or play you went to? Excluding the kids’ plays, it was the Children in Need Charity Concert at Hammersmith Apollo. It was fantastic and you get to see acts perform together that you probably would never have gone to otherwise.
Sporting event you attended? It was a Bath Rugby Match – Bath v Newcastle Falcons. We won of course.
Holiday you went on? A family holiday to Anna Maria Island, just off the coast of Florida. Florida is a regular haunt of ours.
Restaurant you ate in? With colleagues at the Weighbridge Brewhouse in Swindon. As Monahans has six offices across the region I often get to visit good restaurants across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire.
Thing that annoyed you? I rarely get annoyed, there aren’t not enough hours in the day!
Thing that made you laugh out loud? My daughter. She was making a present for my wife’s birthday and it wasn’t exactly going according to plan. She had printed a picture of my wife to stick into a homemade frame, but the glue she used made the ink run and my wife turned green! I couldn’t help myself laughing a little although I did help her resolve the problem and turn my wife back to a normal colour.
Piece of good advice you were given? Always have a spare tie available if eating spaghetti for lunch!
