Staff at Swindon-based Catalent Pharma Solutions climbed, ran and biked their way to raise more than £10,800 for three charities.
The wide range of fundraising events staged by staff included a night trek up Pen Y Fan – the highest peak in South Wales – a quiz night, a 10 km cross-country run and a sponsored bicycle ride.
The proceeds were matched by the firm and will now benefit three charities – childhood leukaemia charity CALM, Prospect Hospice and Alzheimer’s Society. A presentation ceremony was held at the firm’s Blagrove site for the charities to receive the donations and meet some of the Catalent fundraisers.
Catalent sports, social and charity lead at the plant, Graham Prictor, said: “Being able to give back to the local community, where so many of our employees are based, has been very rewarding, and we thank the company for matching the sums we have raised.”
The firm employs more than 550 people at Blagrove, the global development and production hub for its Zydis fast-dissolving tablet. The plant, which manufactures 1.2bn individual doses of medicine for patients around the world each year, also undertakes a number of other activities including pharmaceutical testing for many UK and international companies.
