A redesign of Swindon specialist packaging group Wasdell’s website by town-based marketing communications agency Lundie has resulted in it regularly appearing in the top 20 of Google searches for pharmaceutical packaging.
Wasdell appointed Lundie through competitive tender when it needed help a major overhaul of its company and product messages. This included integrating two new divisions and refreshing its communication across its two main platforms – digital and print.
While the group is a leading contract packaging supplier to healthcare, pharmaceutical and veterinary markets in Europe, its website was out of date, had poor Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and did not work well on mobile platforms.
Lundie, a full-service graphic design and marketing agency based in South Marston, completely restructured the website to give it a contemporary look and reflect Wasdell’s market position, including staging a comprehensive photoshoot to update images and redrafting the website copy.
The site also has an adaptable content management system (CMS) and works well if viewed on a desktop PC, laptop or a mobile device. Lundie also improved the site’s SEO performance.
The new site is now regularly listed in the top 20 of Google searches for pharmaceutical packaging, having previously not been listed in the top 100, and receives an average of 2,500 page views a month.
Lundie creative director Pete Morse said: “Since April 2015 Google has changed its ranking system to also include mobile-friendly and responsive websites. All of our websites are built with this in mind, to take advantage of these new ranking criteria.”
Lundie also developed a new company presentation for potential customers as well as a corporate brochure and is providing Wasdell with ongoing SEO and web management services, including website analytics, social media integration and maintenance and regular content review and improvement.
Wasdell supplies healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK and 47 other countries with a range of products and services such as blister packing, strips packs, container and sachet filling from its plant at Blagrove.
