Regional accountancy firm Monahans has appointed Karen Cooper as rural manager in its Swindon-based rural and landed estates team.
Karen, pictured, has joined from Swindon firm Morley & Co. She previously trained and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2010 while with national firm RSM’s Swindon office.
In her new role she will assist in managing the accounting and tax affairs of the Monahan’s rural, agricultural and land-based clients.
Monahans’ rural and landed estates team is recognised across the region for the high level of its advice and tax planning in the specialist areas that affect those with rural businesses, including land and asset value, livestock and the changing landscape of the agricultural sector.
Karen said: “My experience at both large and small firms had given me a good grounding of general practice and I was looking for an opportunity to specialise in rural business.
“Given the size of the firm and their reputation, Monahans was the right opportunity for me. Being part of a bigger team is great and having started at the busiest time of the year for the firm has meant that I’ve been able to get to grips with the different needs and clients of the rural and landed estates team.”
Monahans’ Swindon office has also recently recruited Lindsey Wilkins as HR advisor. Lindsey has experience of working for not-for-profit and global multinational organisations in the UK and Australia.
She joined Monahans from global consulting group Accenture, where she was HR advisor to its Communications, Media and Entertainment (CMT) group.
Monahans has 12 partners and more than 120 staff across its offices in Swindon, Bath, Chippenham, Frome, Glastonbury and Trowbridge.
