HSBC is to host a series of six networking events in Swindon this year to give corporate customers a range of expert insights and guidance on how to grow their businesses.
The breakfast forums will take place in two venues – accountants Banks BHG in Stratton and Bower & Bailey Solicitors in Regent Circus – and will offer guests the opportunity to hear from HSBC staff and keynote speakers from the region, as well as the chance to network with other local businesses.
The opening event on Wednesday March 9 will look at the rail industry in Swindon – thriving again thanks to impact of the electrification of the London-Bristol line – and how town businesses are in a prime position to help it develop further.
Guest speaker will be Ian Dixon, managing director of South Marston-based Codiun, which supplies maintenance tools and equipment to the rail industry.
He said: “With the electrification of the Great Western Railway underway and the new training centre due to open in Swindon, businesses in the region are in a really strong position to capitalise on a number of opportunities over the coming years.
“Codiun has been providing solutions to Network Rail for a number of years and I’ll be sharing our experiences with other businesses that may be able to benefit from this dynamic and buoyant industry.”
Other events will cover logistics, PR and ‘millennials’ and increasing business activity by exporting to Europe.
HSBC area director for Avon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, Sarah Lucas, said: “Now in its third year, we are delighted to continue a series of breakfast forums that will give businesses the chance to meet and collaborate, along with hearing from industry experts.”
