Swindon firms can get instant access to an extensive network of business knowledge and skills partners through a new growth hub launched by Business West.
The region’s largest business group – and the organisation behind the Swindon and Wiltshire Initiative – wants the portal to be the first port of call for businesses seeking any publicly funded support.
With hundreds of local support providers already listed on the West of England Growth Hub, and more being encouraged to join, local businesses are being urged to take advantage of it.
The innovative web portal offers a range of services including finance assistance, support for high-growth businesses, access to skills packages, manufacturing, innovation and research advice and export support.
The hub is a joint initiative powered by Business West for the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), who hope it will ultimately lead to more sustainable business growth and a targeted, more effective use of public resources.
Based on the ethos of community and relationships, the West of England Growth Hub offers benefits to both support providers and businesses looking to grow, which will stimulate growth and lead to a stronger local economy.
Business West managing director Phil Smith said: “With hundreds of support providers already signed up, it’s time to spread the message to the far corners of the business community. Many firms simply aren’t aware of the support available to them, and this innovative portal provides the perfect door for them to open.”
LEP SME sector group chair Neil Way added: “SMEs form the backbone of our economy and the West of England Growth Hub will provide a support network to enhance growth and prosperity across our region. It exists to serve one function – to help you to grow your business.”
