Rockhaven Park – one of only two speculative small industrial developments under construction in Swindon – has secured its first occupier before it has even completed.
Morrells Wood Finishes, which supplies advanced wood coatings to furniture manufacturers, is to move into one of the 19 units on the scheme on the edge of Kembrey Park.
The Cheshire-based firm has more than 30 branches across the UK. It is to fit out the unit at the entrance to the new industrial scheme ahead of opening in the spring.
Rockhaven Developments, the Warwickshire property firm behind Rockhaven Park, expects to complete the scheme by the end of January.
Units range in size from 1,500 sq ft to 3,125 sq ft with the ability to create larger properties by combining units. They are available on a freehold basis.
Rockhaven Developments director Nick Dowdeswell said: “We are delighted to have secured Morrells Wood Finishes as our first occupier. They are an excellent company who lead the market in their field and their presence will be of significant benefit to other occupiers considering Rockhaven Park.”
He said the area surrounding Rockhaven Park, which includes Kembrey Park and Elgin Industrial Estate, was a popular trade location with occupiers including Howdens Joinery, Plumb Centre and Edmundson Electrical.
Joint agents for the development are Swindon property agents Loveday and Whitmarsh Lockhart and Salisbury firm Myddelton & Major.
Also under construction is Glenmore’s Westmead industrial scheme, where some occupiers have already moved in. The two small-unit developments are under construction as Swindon’s industrial market continues to recover.
