Swindon-based construction company Beard has further expanded its new Bristol office with the appointment of Jeff Pearce as pre-construction manager.
Jeff, pictured, who will be responsible for contract tendering and pre-construction activities, said: “As a company, Beard’s reputation for honesty and its considered approach to growth is very appealing to me.
“Having built my construction career in Bristol, it seemed that the opportunity to work with Beard to help establish a new office here was too good to pass up and I’m sure my commercial expertise, pre-construction experience and understanding of the regional market will prove highly useful.”
Jeff joins the privately owned firm, which has offices in Swindon, Oxford and Guildford, with extensive management experience in the construction sector.
Prior to his appointment at Beard, he was pre-construction manager at Bristol-based contractors Bray & Slaughter and previously technical service director and bid manager for multi-national infrastructure group Balfour Beatty.
Beard Bristol director Mike Hedges, who joined the Westbury-on-Trym office shortly after it opened last year, said: “Jeff will be a real asset to our growing Bristol team.
“He has considerable expertise and experience in the pre-construction management of major projects and strong bid management and value engineering skills. I’m delighted to have him on board.”
Beard undertakes design and build, new build, restoration and refurbishment projects up to £10m for public and private sector organisations.
The 123-year-old company recently completed a £5.3m conversion of Norfolk House – the former HM Revenue and Customs tax office in Water Lane, Bristol – into high-specification student accommodation and is currently working for the University of Bristol.
