The annual Swindon Sports Quiz, organised by chartered accountants Monahans, has raised £1,550 for Prospect Hospice.
Some 41 teams from businesses enjoyed a fiercely fought battle, with Foregone Conclusion, a team from Swindon-based tech giant Intel, lifting the trophy at the end of the evening.
The quiz, which has been running for over 20 years, includes rounds on general sporting knowledge and historical sporting achievements, as well as special rounds on major sporting events with this year’s Rugby World Cup being the focus. Money was also raised through a raffle.
Monahans client portfolio manager Dale Mitchell said: “The quiz is now a staple event on the business social calendar in Swindon and to see such a large number of businesses go head to head again to take the top spot and raise money for a worthy cause too is great.
“It was a close-run competition this year, and so from everyone at Monahans I would like to say well done to Intel’s team, Foregone Conclusion.”
Prospect Hospice is Monahans’ Swindon charity of the year and proceeds from the quiz will be added to monies already raised and presented to the charity at the end of the financial year.
