Francis George, founder Swindon law firm Francis George Solicitor-Advocate, has joined the panel of the Somerset & Wiltshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) as a legal advisor.
Francis, pictured, will advise small businesses and start-ups on issues such as leases, contract law and commercial relationships.
The FSB is the UK's largest pressure group campaigning for the self-employed and owners of small firms. Formed in 1974, it has around 200,000 members across 33 regions and 188 branches.
Francis said: “It’s an honour to be offered a position with the Federation of Small Businesses. The work it does throughout the country is fantastic and it’s a proven asset for many businesses. Working with small businesses and helping them develop has always been a passion of mine. This made it very easy to say yes to this to this role.”
Francis founded Old Town-based Francis George Solicitor-Advocate in 2007. The firm specialises in litigation, pre-litigation and non-contentious work including conveyancing, commercial contracts and probate and wills. It provides pragmatic and practical legal advice to clients across the UK.
Francis gained his Higher Rights qualification following experience in civil and family law litigation. He is a member of the Law Society’s Expert Family Panel and a member of Resolution, a group of family lawyers which support clients in a friendly, non-confrontational way.
As a Higher Rights Advocacy, Francis George Solicitor-Advocate gives clients the equivalent service to that of a barrister. Advising from the start of a case to the finish, the firm’s team works with a range of bodies, from the Small Claims Court to the House of Lords.
