Banks BHG, the Swindon-based chartered accountancy firm, has taken on three new recruits.
The appointments means Bank BHG, based in Stratton, now has a team of well over 30 staff delivering services ranging from business development, accountancy, audit, tax planning, payroll and bookkeeping.
Joining as an account manager is Jacquie Cooke, who holds Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualifications.
Jacquie has a long association with Banks BHG, having sold her bookkeeping business to the company two years ago.
She said: “My business had grown so much that it got to the point where I needed to go up to the next level or sell the business, which I did to Banks BHG.
“Having had a break, I wanted to get back into work, and have that interaction with clients again, and so I am delighted to have joined the team.”
For graduate trainee Cassie Butcher, accountancy is her second career. She trained as an engineer with Rolls-Royce and for the past seven years has been a test engineer for jet engines, based in Filton, Bristol. She decided on a career change due to restructuring at Rolls-Royce.
She said: “I wanted to have a change of career and although this is very different, in that I am sitting at a desk, there are also similarities to my previous role as I am using maths and logic.”
Cassie is the second graduate trainee in post at Banks BHG. Last year Kathryn Milward joined the business and both are now working towards their ACA – chartered accountancy – qualifications.
The third new recruit is Adam Burroughs, who joins straight from A levels as an AAT apprentice. Once he has completed his training, Adam – at one a member of the England youth chess team – will embark on his ACA course.
Banks BHG director Neil Elsden said the trio were a great addition to the company. “We’re delighted to welcome Cassie and Adam, who are making excellent progress as trainee accountants. At Banks BHG, we’re great believers in investing in apprentices and new talent, and developing our own staff.
“We’re also delighted that Jacquie has joined us. We have known her for some time and, having taken over her previous business, know how good she is at her job and what an asset she will be to Banks BHG.”
