Planet Pursuits, the Purton-based event management specialist, has launched a partnership with children’s charity Rainbow Trust, part of which will include organising a ‘bed race’ next year through the streets of Bristol.
The firm, which stages events at Purton House and also has offices near Royal Wootton Bassett, has more than 15 years’ industry experience in events management, company fun days, incentive travel, team building away days and corporate travel including transport and accommodation.
It selected Rainbow Trust as a partner after deciding to utilise its contacts and expertise in the industry to support a charity.
Planet Pursuits co-director Louise Boyse said: “As Planet Pursuits grows we felt it was important to choose a charity where we can focus all our efforts. We feel Rainbow Trust is a fantastic charity which meets all our beliefs and we will work hard to raise awareness and funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
The Bed Race, planned for next spring, will start from Bristol Children’s Hospital, where the charity already works, and make its way through Bristol, stopping by various venues where fun activities will be staged.
The aim is to create as much awareness as possible – with costumes, noise and surprises.
Rainbow Trust, a national charity with a regional care team in Swindon, supports families who care for a life-threatened or terminally ill child.
It provides emotional and practical support for the whole family; from their child’s diagnosis, during treatment and, if needed, through bereavement and beyond.
It relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and thanks to its generous supporters is able to help more than 1,900 families a year throughout England.
Director of marketing and fundraising Emma Haines said: “We are absolutely delighted to be supported by Planet Pursuits. The partnership will enable us to support more families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. We have already received a great response from the team at Planet Pursuits and we can’t wait for the partnership to start.”
Planet Pursuits conducts more than 200 events a year and has won the coveted ‘best event provider’ award at the industry’s M&IT awards for the past two years.
