Cartus, the global relocation business with its European headquarters in Swindon, has secured a £35m funding package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking to help its growth plans and create jobs.
The US-owned firm, which employs 460 staff across the UK, works with clients to help relocate employees and their families, organise moves for public and private multinational and blue-chip companies operating across a range of sectors including oil and gas, pharmaceutical and financial services.
The Lloyds financial package will enable Cartus to continue to expand and secure new contracts as well as continuing to work closely with existing clients. It will also create an unspecified number of jobs.
The company will also be using some of the Lloyds Bank funding to support clients whose relocating employees are selling their home and purchasing in their new location.
Cartus vice president finance Russell Cullens said: “Whilst the jobs market has picked up, employers are noting a shortage of suitable candidates in the market, and increasingly firms are relocating their own employees to take up roles or provide relevant support across different areas and geographies of their business.
“To further support both our new and existing clients to ensure they enjoy a smooth relocation process, we turned again to Lloyds Bank for support and they have provided us with additional funding that will help accelerate our growth plans.”
Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking relationship manager Sam Farrell added: “Cartus is a dynamic business that prides itself on the comprehensive first-class service and support it provides to clients, their employees and families as they relocate and settle into new homes, communities and schools.
“We’re committed to providing funding support and guidance to mid-markets firms with an appetite for growth, and look forward to building further on our long-term relationship with Cartus as it expands its operations and secures more contracts in the UK.”
Cartus was launched 60 years ago in the US and now employs 2,900 people in 18 offices and operates in more than 185 countries worldwide.
