Advice on how to win some of the billions of pounds worth of contracts put out to tender every year by the Government will be on offer at a Swindon networking group later this week.
The Government wants 30% of its £250bn spend to go to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is actively encouraging businesses to bid.
But many small business owners miss out because they wrongly think the process is too complex and that it is geared towards to major companies.
Purpol Marketing founder Denise O’Leary, pictured, will explain how SMEs can compete for these contracts at this Thursday’s Business Village meeting.
Chippenham-based Purpol Marketing specialises in marketing strategy and bid management with a focus on SMEs and the construction and manufacturing sectors.
Denise will talk about recent changes in Government procurement legislation, including how the bidding process has been made less onerous for smaller companies, and provide tips on how businesses can align themselves to win contracts.
Denise, who founded Purpol Marketing last year after identifying a gap in the market for marketing director level expertise on a ‘pay-you-go’ basis, has guided many clients through the Government’s tendering process from multi-billion pound frameworks to smaller local contracts.
She said: “I am delighted to have been invited to speak at the Business Village networking group.
“Effective bid management is a subject Purpol Marketing is passionate about, as success is measured not by how many clients Purpol wins, but how much Purpol helps its clients win. I will be sharing tips on where to look for contracts and how to present your company in the best light.”
Business Village meets each Thursday from 7.30am-9am for breakfast and networking at The Campanile Hotel on Swindon’s Delta Business Park. There is no membership fee and attendance costs £10 per meeting. All businesses are welcome. To book visit www.businessvillage.org.
