HSBC has opened a full-service banking centre in Swindon which gives customers access to a wider variety of services under one roof.

Only the third of its kind in the UK – and the first outside London – the Relationship Management Centre in HSBC’s existing base in The Forum, Old Town, pictured, offers a full range of commercial banking services.

It can work with businesses turning over up to £350m against the previous ceiling of £30m.

HSBC said the decision to invest in the centre in Swindon reflected the wider region’s growth in areas such as finance, manufacturing and technology.

HSBC area corporate director James Shepherd said: “Opening the new centre in Swindon is a real statement of intent for HSBC and was an easy decision to make; Swindon is becoming a real growth market so we’ve invested significantly to reflect our commitment to the region.

“Additionally, the electrification of the Great Western train line will mean faster and more reliable connections between Swindon and London, meaning there is scope for even more growth over the coming years.”

The recently refurbished centre includes a new reception area, coffee lounge with free wi-fi and iPads, and state-of-the-art meeting rooms for HSBC clients.

The Swindon Corporate team have more than 50 years’ combined experience and now also offer services for corporate customers operating in the agriculture and landed estates sector, led by Tom Windett who has recently joined the team.
