A series of free workshops to help businesses keep abreast of the latest health and safety legislation is being launched by regional accountancy firm Monahans at its offices in Swindon and Trowbridge.
The first two events will focus on what start-ups and small firms need to know in an often confusing area for businesses of all sizes.
The Health and Safety for Start-ups workshops will be staged at Monahans’ Swindon office in Swindon on Tuesday September 15 and at its Trowbridge office on Tuesday September 29.
The events are suitable for start-ups and businesses that are just about to or have recently taken on their first few employees.
Health and safety legislation will be broken down into bite-size chunks and attendees will be shown how to write an action plan for their organisation.
Monahans health and safety consultant Debbie Anstis, pictured, said: “Not knowing how to approach health and safety is a common problem for SMEs. Entrepreneurs want to concentrate on growing their businesses, and the complexities of health and safety legislation can present a hurdle, especially when it comes to taking on employees.
“These interactive workshops will give people an understanding of what they need to do and how to ensure that documentation is structured correctly. By attending these workshops, companies will know what they need to do and how to do it in order to conform to legislation.”
Both workshops start at 8.30am and will finish by 10am. Refreshments and pastries will be provided.
Further events focusing on setting up health and safety systems will take place on November 10 in Swindon and on November 24 in Trowbridge, and on risk assessments and how to write them on February 10 in Swindon and February 24 in Trowbridge.
