A half-day training seminar next month will guide business owners through the complex legal area of poor performance and sickness absence.

Staged by Paul Archer, pictured, of Paul Archer Training, the event on September 22 will help attendees appreciate their legal options while avoiding the pitfalls by focusing on practical steps to reduce absence and improve or remove poorly performing employees.

Among the topics covered will be:

                        – setting standards and following disciplinary processes

                        – adopting and implementing absenteeism policies

                        – making adjustments and avoiding disability discrimination

                        – dealing with linked complaints of stress and bullying

                        – managing protected conversations about exits

                        – preventing the abuse of contractual sick pay policies

                        – removing employees through reorganisations

The event runs from 9.30am to 1pm at the Hilton Hotel close to Junction 16 of the M4 and costs £95 per person.

Numbers are limited to 15 to create time and space to focus on individual questions and training needs.
