Swindon Renault Truck dealer Complete is on the road to expansion after being acquired by Southampton group Sparks Commercials for £1.5m

Complete, based at South Marston and employing 17 people, has been trading for 28 years and was put up for sale due to the retirement of the owner.

Sparks, which has three other sites, has already employed one more member of staff and is now looking to recruit at least two HGV vehicle technicians.

Sparks, which has its headquarters in Southampton and depots in Portsmouth and Poole, sells a full range of Renault Trucks from 2.8 to 44 tonnes as well as servicing and other facilities including roadside assistance and recovery and repair and maintenance contracts.

The company was set up 25 years ago by Mike and Julie Spark and now employs 100 staff. They aim to continue to expand, with between six to eight locations over the next five to 10 years.

Mike and Julie worked with NatWest senior relationship manager Martin Ford to secure borrowing to assist with the Complete acquisition.

Julie said: “We have dealt with NatWest since forming the company and they have been very supportive of our business in every way over the years. They have listened and understood our expansion plans and ideas and we hold them in very high regard.”

Martin Ford added: “NatWest is delighted to be able to support Mike and Julie with this acquisition, which sees them continue to deliver on their strategic plan and creates a number of new positions.”
