A ‘summer of sport’ has helped the Swindon and Marlborough offices of law firm Withy King raise more than £20,000 for for Wiltshire Air Ambulance – their chosen charity for the past two years.

Staff took part in a range of fund-raising activities inside and outside working hours including individuals and teams running, cycling and completing the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge. On the less sporty side, they also staged a ball and took part in a bake-off.

Every two years Withy King’s employees vote for their charity of choice in each of the firm’s three principal locations – Bath, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. The total amount raised across the firm amounted to almost £50,000 – with the Swindon and Marlborough staff bringing in a total of £20,347.11

Withy King partner and chair of its charities committee, Chris Kane, said: “We are committed to making a positive impact on the communities we work in. The staff in our Swindon and Marlborough offices nominated Wiltshire Air Ambulance as their ‘charity of choice’ and we are delighted with what individuals and teams have managed to achieve over the last two years.

“I am immensely proud of the initiative they have shown in coming up with novel fund-raising ideas as well as the effort they have put into the activities themselves.”

Wiltshire Air Ambulance fundraising manager Rebecca de la Bedoyere added: “We are so thrilled by the amazing fundraising efforts of everyone at Withy King. They have worked incredibly hard; climbing mountains, baking cakes, even organising a fantastic ball, and what’s more they’ve been an absolute pleasure to work with. Their commitment and drive is evident in the phenomenal amount raised, and every penny is going to help us save lives across Wiltshire. It costs us £6,850 per day to run the service, and we are so grateful to all the individuals and businesses across the county who support us.”

Withy King Swindon and Marlborough offices’ charity for the next two years will be Prospect Hospice in Swindon.
