Staff at Swindon accountancy firm Banks BHG have stepped up to a fundraising challenge and will be striding out to support a town youth charity.
They will complete an eight-mile circular route at Barbury Castle Iron Age hill fort near Wroughton on June 20 to raise money for the firm’s charity of the year Inner Flame.
Thirteen staff are planning to take part in the walk, which will be spread over a morning – with a lunchtime pub stop.
Organiser Ben Haines, Banks BHG’s accounts and audit manager, said: “This is the third year we’ve done a sponsored walk for our adopted charity.
“Last year it was at Savernake Forest, and the year before the Devil’s Punchbowl. We get more colleagues joining in each year, and they’ve not been put off despite the fact that last year it rained.”
The walk is one of many events planned for the year to support Inner Flame, which helps young people fulfil their potential and also delivers The Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Swindon. There has already been a quiz, with another one planned, as well as a golf day and bake-off.
