Swindon-based Isys Group, which produces innovative workforce management software, has been acquired by outsourcing giant Capita.
Isys, employing 48 people at its head office in Churchward, works with more than 500 national and international customers in sectors including banking, global facilities management and online gaming. 
The firm has its roots in long-standing Swindon timing systems firm Blick, now part of Stanley Security Solutions. While it specialises in time and attendance systems, workforce scheduling, HR systems and employee screening, it has also developed ID verification software, called Intelligent Identity, that enables clients to carry out due diligence on potential employees.
The system can also be used to verify the identity of customers buying products in regulated sectors such as banking.
Capita handles a huge range of outsourced contracts for central and local government and the private sector, including payroll services and security.
The managing director of Capita’s secure software and technology business, Sean Massey, said: “Isys Group has developed its best of breed applications over 15 years.
“The acquisition is a great strategic fit with Capita’s existing markets and portfolio of solutions and services. It will enhance our capabilities and create new opportunities to deliver services to our clients, such as automatically feeding information about employee attendance and hours directly into their payroll systems.”

The acquisition was initiated for Capita by Bristol-based Isca Ventures. Partner Matt Eves said: “We were delighted to put this transaction together with Capita and Isys Group, and have no doubt Isys will continue to thrive as part of the wider Capita group.”
Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
