UTAX (UK), the Shrivenham-based office equipment supplier, has continued to expand by creating seven jobs across the business.

The new joiners take the total workforce at the firm, which specialises in document management products such as printers and copiers, to 50.

The firm is supporting its growing partner network – one of the UK’s largest – with the appointment of Phil Russell as southern technical manager. Phil, who joins from Olivetti, where he spent eight years in a similar role, will be responsible for technical support and product training in the South, reporting directly to head of technical services Paul Young.

The direct service team welcomes four new team members. Matthew Clark, who has 20 years’ experience in the industry, joins as the direct service field technician for the South East while Lancashire-based Andrew Lock will be supporting the northern region.

Two new trainee IT support technician roles have been filled by James Lawton, who joins the team at Shrivenham from PC World as an IT technician, and Sam Palmer, who will be responsible for supporting customers with IT queries and monitoring UTAX’s UFleet software system.

The professional services division, managed by Mike Barnard and responsible for planning and implementing new installs, is expanding with the creation of a new regional position – professional services manager for the North – which has been filled by Andy Lees.

The southern regional sales team has been boosted by the arrival of John Norris, an experienced document solutions manager, as area sales manager to develop and support the growing UTAX dealer and reseller channels across the South of England.

UTAX (UK) managing director Shaun Wilkinson said: “Our drive to recruit and train the best, to deliver the best lies at the heart of our ongoing success and our dominant position in the market.

“As we reported in Q4 2014, the steady growth of our partner network has resulted in increased sales and more contracts under direct service. The solutions and hardware support teams have been further expanded and our new and comprehensive training programme ensures that our installations of complete managed print systems and software installations continue to support our reputation for excellence in all areas.”
