Swindon’s brainiest business people are being urged to get their thinking caps on and take part in a quiz to raise money for youth charity Inner Flame.
The event on April 22 is being staged by Swindon-based chartered accountants Banks BHG and is its first fundraising event for Inner Flame as its charity of the year.
Banks BHG supports a different local charity each year – over the past four years it has raised more than £9,000 for good causes including Prospect Hospice and children’s cancer charity CALM.
Inner Flame helps 16 to 25 year olds build confidence and achieve their goals.
Banks BHG director Richard Mathews said: “We’re delighted to be helping Inner Flame this year. It’s an excellent charity, supporting young people, and meets our criteria of being locally based.”
The event gets underway at 7pm at the De Vere Hotel, West Swindon, and is open to teams of up to four. Entry is £5 each.
As well as the quiz, Banks BHG staff are planning a sponsored walk and a bake-off and the firm is hosting a golf day in July. There will also be a second quiz in October.
David Wreathall, founder of Inner Flame – which delivers The Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Swindon to help young people into employment – said: “We were delighted to be chosen as charity of the year by Banks BHG. Some of our programmes depend entirely on voluntary donations, so backing from local businesses makes a huge difference.”
Quiz teams need to enter in advance, as no entries will be taken on the night. For more information email claire.hunt@banksbhg.com or visit www.banksbhg.com
