Customer support group Jaywing’s contact centre in Swindon has donated £3,600 to local charities, exceeding its £2,500 target for 2014.

The money has been shared between Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which received £1,735.26, and Prospect Hospice and local branches of Cancer Research UK, given £578.42 each.

The remaining £707.90 was split between national charities Sports Relief and Wear it Pink, the flagship fundraising event of Breast Cancer Campaign.

To celebrate its success Jaywing’s social and fundraising committee handed over cheques the charities last week.

A highlight of the firm’s fundraising calendar was its family fun day when around 400 people enjoyed bouncy castles, a DJ and a BBQ. Other fundraising events included fancy dress competitions, quiz nights, as well as a number of seasonally-themed events such as an Easter raffle and Halloween party.

The money raised forms part of Jaywing’s wider charitable giving drive which will continue throughout 2015.

Jaywing managing director, contact, Chris Hancock said: “The local community in Swindon holds a special place in our heart and we are very proud to be a part of it. Our social committee always invents novel ways for us to give back through a series of charity events designed to help our neighbours.

“As a team of about 250 that is continually growing, we hope to raise even more money in 2015 so we can make even more of a difference this year.”

The firm, which also has centres in Sheffield, London, Newbury and Ipswich, specialises in brand management, digital marketing and customer contact.
