Visitors to Wiltshire College Chippenham’s open evening this week will also be able to sign up to tour the new campus in-the-making.
Due to open this autumn, the £21m building is the UK’s biggest skills funding project and will transform the site into a state-of-the-art facility boasting the latest equipment for vocational study in construction, engineering and motor vehicle maintenance, music, media and art, hair and beauty, sports science and IT.
An exhibition showcasing the development will be held during the open evening on Wednesday and a representative from developers Willmott Dixon will be on hand to answer questions.

But those wishing to get a closer glimpse of the facility, now hidden behind building site hoardings, will be able to sign up for one of the limited spaces available on the tours this Saturday between 10am and 1pm.
Chippenham MP Duncan Hames described the 9,100 sq m building as “a tremendous landmark for the future growth of Chippenham” when he helped top it out shortly before Christmas.
“It sends out a message that this is a town that is serious about providing opportunities for young people,” he said.
The college open day will allow potential students and their families to discover all the courses and apprenticeships available. Hands-on activities will include a driving simulator on the computing and IT stand, nail painting and a hand massage with the beauty therapy team, getting involved with ropes, tent building and orienteering with the public services team, and a fitness test with the sport team.
There will also be the chance to sample wine, deli produce, chocolates and cakes in a mini French market, as part of a market research project by HNC Business students, and the Wiltshire College MGZR rally car will be on show courtesy of the motorsport engineering department.
Visitors can also learn more of what Wiltshire College Chippenham has to offer in the fields of travel and tourism, media, TV and film, hairdressing, catering and professional cookery, vehicle maintenance, childcare and health and social care, arts, design and fashion and games development.
The open evening is from 5pm to 7.30pm at the Cocklebury Road campus. Student services representatives, careers, and additional learning support teams will also be on hand to provide information, advice and guidance.
