Swindon-based Nationwide building society has appointed Ann Brown as HR director.
Ann, pictured, was previously UK senior vice president for HR at Capgemini, the global consulting, technology and outsourcing firm. 
With more than 30 years’ experience in HR, Ann has held HR director and group HR director positions across a range of sectors and industries – she was HR director at Cable & Wireless, before moving to Colt Telecom as group HR director, and then joining Capgemini in 2001.
She is also a Visiting Fellow at Kingston University Business School and actively supports university initiatives to encourage women into STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).
Ann has received industry recognition and awards for both internal innovation and externally as a driving force in the development of youth skills in the IT industry, including the development of Higher Apprenticeship programme standards.

Nationwide has 17,000 employees spread across its head office in Pipers Way, administration centres based in Northampton, Bournemouth and Dunfermline, and its branch network.
