Positive comments by trainee solicitors at regional law firm Withy King, which has a major office in Swindon, have earned it top billing in eight categories in an online guide used by law students when planning their career.
Withy King was named a ‘winner’ for job satisfaction, quality of work, client contact, living up to expectations, vacation schemes, friendliness, social life and confidence in being kept on in the annual Lex 100 survey.
The independent comparative guide is based entirely on the views of those actually doing the job and, as a result, is considered an invaluable reference source for all those considering a career in law. Last year Withy King, which also has an office in Marlborough, topped seven categories.
Managing partner Graham Street said: “This is another great result for Withy King, particularly in light of us becoming a Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For winner.
“It shows that we are really living one of our key values as being an employer of choice. We are totally committed to our trainees and ensuring that Withy King lives up to their expectations, and gives them the best possible start to a dynamic, varied and interesting career. Our people are fundamental to delivering the exceptional levels of client service that we work to so to be recognised for the results we’re achieving is fantastic.”
Comments put forward to Lex 100 by Withy King trainees included: “great work exposure”; “broad and varied” range of seat choices; “excellent retention rates”; “friendly place to work” where “staff go out of their way to give trainees opportunities to get involved”, “colleagues genuinely enjoy each other’s company” and the firm is keen to “look after its employees” providing a “much healthier” work/life balance than trainees at other firms enjoy.
Lex 100 said: “Those looking for a number of ‘niche’ practice areas and a top quality caseload should consider Withy King.”
