UTAX (UK), the country’s largest office equipment partner-only network, has continued to expand with a number of new appointments.

The new joiners arrive shortly after the Shrivenham-based firm, which specialises in document management equipment such as printers and copiers, posted annual UK partner sales up 19.3% to £11.6m – its fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth.

Managing director Shaun Wilkinson, pictured, said: “Our principal aim has been to expand our support team and to further develop and produce solutions that meet the needs of our growing portfolio of partners and their customers.

“We shall shortly be announcing some of these developments and meanwhile are delighted to announce that we have added some very talented key personnel who have joined us to help write the next chapter in our success story.”

UTAX’s technical services team is strengthened with the arrival of Brian Young, who joins the growing team of professional services managers. Brian will be providing pre- and post-sales support with respect to UTAX software solutions to area and regional sales managers as well as UTAX’s business partners.

The firm’s direct service department is expanding with the appointment of Desmond Connelly who, as an additional workshop technician, will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of UTAX’s multi-functional devices and printers under direct and in-direct service operation contracts.

An additional three new direct service field technicians have been appointed to join the team. Anthony Bridgwood, with more than 20 years of field service experience and a former submariner; Andy Perkins, who has more than 25 years of experience maintaining an extensive variety of copiers and printers; and Peter Stevenson, who will be providing a range of on-site technical services to partners and their clients – from carrying out firmware updates to maintenance tasks and occasional installations when required by a customer’s changing circumstances.

The Northern regional sales team has been boosted by the arrival of two new area sales managers to develop and support the UTAX dealer and reseller channels. Billy Murphy, a former business development manager with Konica Minolta, Annodata and Xact and with more than 30 years of industry experience will include Scotland on his patch.

Joining him is Mancunian Paul Logan, who not only has experience in direct sales and as a field service manager, but also as an engineer, bringing wide-ranging technical knowledge. In the South, Ben Key has been appointed as a new area sales manager and will be using his experience at Konica Minolta and Xerox to support UTAX’s growing partner base.

Shaun Wilkinson added: “If UTAX (UK) is to continue its growth, we have to continue to provide the best support of any company within the industry to our partners – and we can only do that by employing the best.”
