The Marlborough office of private client wealth managers Brewin Dolphin is sponsoring the Marlborough Literature Festival, which starts today.

The festival, which runs through the weekend and finishes on Monday, prides itself in recognising, celebrating and supporting real writers.

This year’s guest authors include Louis de Bernières, best known as the author of the worldwide blockbuster Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, Eats, Shoots & Leaves writer and journalist Lynne Truss and philosopher AC Grayling.

Head of the Brewin’s Marlborough office, Stephen Depla, said: “The Festival, which has been running for five years, has quickly become a highlight in the local calendar and always proves to be a great success.

“This sponsorship reinforces our continuing support of local events in the South.”

The Brewin Dolphin group manages more than £28bn of funds for 100,000-plus private clients. Its Marlborough office, one of more than 30 across the UK and the Channel Islands, sponsors a number of other Wiltshire events including the Marlborough International Jazz Festival and Devizes Festival.
