Specialist web agency Digital Trading has agreed to manage UTC Swindon’s website as part of the firm’s commitment to the community, engineering and education.
Faringdon-based Digital Trading, which supplies a range of digital business services, says the UTC’s (University Technical College) philosophy of providing young people with an education built around the needs of the Swindon area’s engineering and technology firms chimed with its own beliefs.
The UTC, which will welcome its first intake of students next month, will eventually cater for 600 young people aged 14 to 19.
It will provide courses for young people who aspire to a career in engineering, giving them opportunities to gain the necessary skills across all the diverse sectors of the engineering industries. It already has the backing of many of the area’s major engineering and technology businesses, who are supporting it by donating equipment and their expertise.
Digital Trading co-founder and managing director Roger Goodwin said his firm recognised that business contributes to the wellbeing of communities and shares a responsibility to protect and support charitable activities.
“We support what UTC Swindon stands for and what it is doing for young people,” he said. “We are delighted to support its work by maintaining the website for the benefit of students, parents and staff.”
The firm’s business services include optimisation, transfer, imports, data manipulation, bespoke applications, business analysis, project management and software integration.
Clients include Capita, Siemens, University of Oxford and Achilles. The company also has extensive knowledge and experience of online marketing platforms across multi-domain projects and API integration with Facebook, Google, Twitter, PayPal and Sage.
UTC Swindon principal Angela Barker-Dench said: "With its connections in the education and engineering sector and academia, Digital Trading is the perfect partner for UTC Swindon. We’re delighted that they will be involved with the college. UTC Swindon stands to benefit greatly from the specialist skills in the Digital Trading team.”
