Swindon public relations firm redheadPR is providing support worth £1,000 to local athlete Kev Tonner as he prepares to represent Great Britain at a major triathlon event next month.
He will take part in the 2014 Edmonton ITU Sprint Distance Triathlon World Championships having earlier this year won the men’s senior race in his age group at Olympic venue Eton Dorney and coming third overall.
Kev, pictured, a sports therapist with Championship football club Reading, also runs Kev Tonner Sports Injury Clinic in Old Town.
He said: “It is fantastic to work with a great local business such as redheadPR throughout this venture. Qualifying for the World Championships was fantastic and the response I’ve had since has been overwhelming. As well as representing Great Britain, I am representing Swindon, my hometown.”
Founder and managing director of redheadPR Sara Tye said: “We’re delighted to get behind Kev as he bids to win the 2014 ITU Sprint Distance Triathlon World Championships in Canada. He is an inspirational and high-performance athlete the whole town should be proud of. redheadPR has a proud history of working with sport and health clients, so it's natural for us to be supporting Kev.”
Sara has nearly 30 years’ experience managing the reputations of start-ups, corporates, not for profits and individuals. redheadPR uses cutting-edge online PR and marketing techniques as well as tried and tested traditional methods.
