Accountants from Swindon firm Banks get into their stride for charity

A team from Swindon accountancy firm Banks is going down to the woods this Saturday to take part in a sponsored walk for charity.

The team will undertake an 11-mile hike in Savernake Forest to raise money for TWIGS, the Swindon-based charity supporting people with mental health problems, with a focus on a community garden.

TWIGS is Banks’ charity for 2014. In previous years, it has supported Prospect and CALM (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement) and in total has raised almost £6,500.

Strapping on their walking boots will be Tracey Heath, Ben Haines, Paula Forbes-Smith, Claire Presdee, Claire Hunt, Carol Conway, Tracy Cacchio, Rowena Gonsalves and Paul Gosling.

So far, Banks has raised £700 for TWIGS from a sponsored weight loss and a quiz night. Other events planned for the year include a golf day and a race night, as well as a repeat of last year’s very successful Banks Bake-Off. The team are also volunteering for some gardening at TWIGS.
