OATS, the Swindon-based supplier of data to the worldwide lubricants industry, has expanded its sales team with two senior appointments to enable it to accelerate its business development across the globe.
David Valentyne brings many years of experience in the lubricants industry across Southern Africa and Europe having spent more than a decade at Shell in a variety of roles including global business development manager for retail.
Henry Lee is an experienced international sales manager with a successful track record in business-to-business and business-to-distributor roles with international industrial businesses including Linde Heavy Trucks and forklift truck maker Atlet UK.
He has managed accounts across the Americas, Australia, Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. David and Henry will work alongside Jeremy Hyde and Joe Turley to manage key accounts in both global and local markets.
OATS vice president Jeremy Hyde said: “David and Henry bring with them a wealth of sales and lubricants industry knowledge. Their addition to our sales team will enable us to deliver first-class service and strengthen relationships with all of our national, regional and international customers, delivering solutions to customers in more than 100 countries all over the world that increase website traffic, reduce customer support costs and improve customer satisfaction. ”
OATS celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1984 by two lubricants specialists from Swindon-based Castrol and Esso.
It quickly built a reputation as the supplier of choice for lubricants data for the UK market, and in the 1990s from its Swindon base, expanded across Europe providing multilingual distributor and help -desk solutions that allowed technical services to be centralised and streamlined.
It was an early adopter of internet marketing services and in 1998 introduced the world’s first online lubricants recommendation website.
