The last of three events advising small firm owners on valuing and selling their business is staged in Swindon later this month by chartered accountants Banks.

The free Retirement Planning seminar is aimed at business owners who are planning to retire or semi-retire. It will be held at Banks’s Stratton offices on June 18 from 5.45pm for a 6-7pm seminar followed by buffet.

The seminar follows on from Banks’ Value of a Business and Sale of a Business events, which were both well-attended.

Guest speakers are Amanda Barnett, financial adviser with Bristol-based IFA firm Grosvenor Consultancy, Banks director Richard Mathews and David Carroll of Carroll Consulting.

Following a long and successful career in business, David has spent the past six years working with owner-managers helping to facilitate company sales, introduce growth plans, develop management teams and help the transition from full-time work to complete or semi-retirement.

Amanda is based in Banks’ offices one afternoon each week, advising Banks’ clients on a range of subjects, including retirement planning, protection and savings.

Richard said: “Our first event, looking at the Value of a Business, helped business owners focus on where to start when it comes to moving on from their business. Our second looked at the issues related to selling business, and this third and final seminar takes it one stage further, by examining retirement planning.”

Booking for this free event can be made via the Banks’ website www.banksca.co.uk or by emailing claire.hunt@banksca.co.uk.
