The Holiday Inn hotel in Swindon has been put on the market as part of a portfolio of 21 Holiday Inns across England.
Specialist property adviser Christie + Co says it has already had strong interest in the 99-room hotel on Marlborough Road close to Coate Water and the other sites, which stretch from Washington, Tyne & Wear, in the north to Portsmouth in the south.
The hotel operated under the Forte Posthouse brand until 2001 when it became part of the Holiday Inn franchise. It is ranked 18 out of 30 hotels in the Swindon area by TripAdviser based on 220 reviews by guests.
Christie + Co is seeking offers in excess of £70m for the whole group, although offers for small groups or individual hotels will be considered — guide prices for individual hotels are being made available to serious potential bidders.
The hotels are being offered free of management and with an interim Holiday Inn franchise agreement until the end of this year.
The first round offer deadline is June 11.
