The first speculative development of industrial units in Swindon for seven years has secured further reservations just six weeks after construction started, according to its agents.

The individual units on the Glenmore Business Park on the Westmead Industrial Estate, which range from just 969 sq ft to 1,604 sq ft, will be ready for occupation towards the end of July. Units can also be combined for buyers with larger requirements.

The new business park is being built with small businesses in mind and freehold units can be bought from £97,500.  Alternatively, units can be leased on flexible terms with annual rents starting at £7,300.

Glenmore managing director Daniel Rubin said: “We are excited with the initial response to our new business park.

“We have felt for some time that Swindon’s businesses have been in need of some new, good quality industrial units and we are very pleased to be able to meet this demand.

“With strong interest at this early stage we anticipate that this will enable us to carry on with the next phase in the summer.”

Joint agents Loveday and Whitmarsh Lockhart, both of which are based in Swindon, said the availability of good quality industrial units in the town was at its lowest level for more than a decade.
