Latchways, the Devizes-based specialist safety harnessing firm, has appointed Jamie Matheson, the former chairman of private client investment group Brewin Dolphin, as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Mr Matheson, who left Brewin Dolphin in March last year, is currently a non-executive director of STV, the Scottish broadcaster.
He was also a non-executive director of Maven Income and Growth VCT 5 until April 2013. At Latchways Mr Matheson will assume the role of chair its remuneration committee and will a member of the audit and nomination committees.
Latchways chairman Paul Hearson said: “Jamie brings extensive knowledge and experience of the City to the Latchways board, and I look forward to working with him.”
Brewin Dolphin was Latchways’ corporate broker until the sale of its corporate broking business to a new venture, N+1 Brewin, on February 1, 2012. Latchways said it was of the opinion that Mr Matheson fully satisfied the independence requirements set out in the UK Corporate Governance Code.
Latchways’ products are used worldwide by the construction, utility and maintenance industries.
